Ar tréimhse fhada, b’é Daonscoil an t-ainm a bhí air agus reachtáladh é amuigh faoin tuath ach i ndiaidh cúpla bliain gan scoil, athbhunaíodh é i gcathair Melbourne agus athbhaisteadh é mar Gaeltacht Melbourne. I rith na scoile bíonn ranganna ann le haghaidh gach duine ón tosaitheoir go dtí an cainteoir líofa. Bíonn spraoi ann freisin mar tráth na gceist, an cheolchoirm, seisiúin agus imeachtaí eile, ina measc sin ranganna roghnacha, áit gur féidir foghlaim faoi réimse ábhar eile trí mheán na Gaeilge. Every year we provide a summer school over the Australia Day long weekend. For a long time, it was called Daonscoil and it was run out in the country, but after a couple of years without a school, it was re-established in the city of Melbourne and renamed Gaeltacht Melbourne. During the school there are classes for everybody from beginner to fluent speaker. There’s fun as well like trivia night, the concert, sessions and other activities, including elective classes where you can learn about a range of other subjuects through Irish. If you’re after a weekend full to the brim with Irish, come to Gaeltacht Melbourne!
